The Jizera Mountains are situated on the border of the Czech Republic and Poland. The centre of this region is the town of Jablonec nad Nisou which lies about 100km northern from Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.

Glass flacons were produced in glassworks of the Jizera Mountains as soon as the end of the 18th century but the real boom started in 1920. The upswing was connected with technical improvements in the industry, changed way of live in Europe after the World War II. The Jizera Mountains region became one of the world centres of flacons and toiletry glass production.
